In just a couple of weeks time, the third annual Doula UK conference is being held. It is on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 in Birmingham. For the first time, it will happen in the middle of World Doula Week! I am so excited to be going to this event. Not only is it a great place to mingle with other doulas, sometimes meeting some for the first time having only spoken to them before, but once again, the organizers have come up with an amazing line-up of speakers. I always come away from the day feeling like I have learned so much, and I have no doubt that this one will be any less inspiring. Some of the speakers include:
- Jill Bergman, doula, “kangaroula” & partner to Dr Nils Bergman
- Prof Soo Downe OBE
- Kate Evans, author of ‘The Food of Love: your formula for successful breastfeeding’ and ‘Bump: how to make, grow and birth a baby’
- Rebecca Schiller, doula, writer and Chair of BirthRights
- Mark Harris RM
- Michelle Every, doula & ‘Supporting Every Birth’ workshop facilitator
And the day is chaired by Sheena Byrom OBE. Did I mention that is was a great day!
If you are interested in attending, there are still tickets available — and it is open to everyone, not just DUK members. So come along and find me there!
